In 2007, Hoad’s purchased one of the latest technological developments in foot scanning for the retail footwear industry – the iStep Foot Scanner. Its aim is to assist with our existing business of providing additional support and comfort to those customers suffering from foot conditions.
For a couple of generations, members of the Hoad family have provided their customers with this personal and unique service. The implementation of the iStep Foot Scanner brought our traditional methods into the 21st century, giving our customers a more comprehensive orthotic insole, with more accuracy and consequently better service.
How does this work?
The iStep Foot Scanner takes a digital scan of the feet using pressure plates with over a 1000 barometric sensors that measure the force extended by each foot. The information gathered is analysed instantly by the iStep software and recommends the correct medical grade, ready made orthotic. The orthotic insole helps to correct the foot complaint whilst also increasing the comfort and support within your shoes. They are lightweight and can be transferred between suitable fitting footwear.
Therefore, if you answer YES to any of the following foot and / or body conditions, we are more than likely able to help. Please contact us to make an appointment for a FREE consultation.
Dropped Arches or Metatarsals or High Arches?
Common signs of dropped arches or metatarsals are the flattening of the foot through the arch and the foot pronating inwards giving some degree of pain or discomfort. With dropped metatarsals there is often pain in the forefoot from the second toe across to the fifth toe as there is a reduction in tissue between the metatarsal heads and skin.
By implementing a Lynco orthotic into your shoes, the appropriate insoles will offer increased cushioning but more importantly adding support to the appropriate areas of concern, helping to give stability and creating a neutral platform for you to stand on, whilst helping to prevent the conditions from getting worse, but also, where possible to repair damage to the foot.
Aches or Pains in your feet, ankles or knees when standing or walking?
Much of aches and pains in your feet refer to inflammation and / or burning sensations from the heel towards the toe box. There are a number of different reasons why this could be happening from Heel Pain, Arch Pain, and Metatarsal Pain with the most common condition called Plantar Fasciitis. This is a fibrous tissue running along the bottom of the foot, where excessive stretching of the Plantar Fascia is caused by over pronation (flat feet). Much of the problems experienced within the feet can as a result affect other parts of the body, namely ankles, legs or back. This occurs when the body naturally tries to over compensate for the pain or ache it is suffering from in the feet.
The treatment for this comes of two fold, where choosing the right footwear having a stable heel, soft leather uppers, cushioned outsoles and removable insoles will help. By having removable insoles we are able to implement a Lynco orthotic insole designed with medial heelpost and arch support to help treat these symptoms.
Your Shoes wear out on one side more than the other?
Most people will notice that their shoes will wear down eventually on the heels. However, when there are foot conditions the wear on your shoes will tend to occur sooner and the wear more unnatural. When the foot pronates (rolls inward) excessive wear will occur on the inside edge of the heel and sole. By comparison if the foot supernates the wear will occur on the outside edge of the heel and sole.
Ideally when we wear our shoes, we want them to be able to last for their maximum time, where the wear and tear occurs through the central part of the heels and soles. This can be achieved with a Lynco insole because it helps to give a stable and cushioned platform for the body to balance from, and therefore create core stability for the body resulting in the wear on the heels and soles of your shoes being more central.
You have poor body alignment and / or posture?
People suffering with poor body alignment and / or posture including gait will see significant improvements in these areas when wearing Lynco orthotic insoles. The insoles provide a stable platform from which to walk on resulting in the body naturally standing more upright, straightening of the back and improving the body’s natural alignment from the neck down.
